Hati Kecil
Seketika cuma, ku tertanya,
Mengapa hati kecil ini,
Penuh bisa;
Namun, ia juga,
Penuh rasa?

Days
Tuesday is my kind of Monday.
Monday is my bed day. Bedridden, doze off.
And I agree, Wednesday is a good coffee day.

Depiction
He lives in fiction
Conviction;
But the world goes against him
Friction;
Gravity pulls him down
Constriction;
Harsh reality and pain
Affliction;
And he hopes for more
Contradiction.

Of Trivial Matters
Malukah anda terhadap kaum Melayu? Malukah anda terhadap Melayu Muslim?
Jujur, saya malu.
Minda "holier than thou" perlu dilupuskan dalam segenap fikiran kita.
Dunia.
Dunia.
Kerana segelintir orang berperangai sebegini, rosak hancur punah maruah kaum dan agama.
Saya geleng kepala.

The Malay Custom
When it comes to conspiracy theory, Jewish is to be blamed.
We rarely read. Ergo, we rarely think.
I'm older. So I'm wiser.
Back-biting is customary.
We don't dispute whatever fact we encounter. We accept everything wholly.
We are quite racist, to a certain degree.
Ramadhan is equal to Eid.
Giving and contribute to charity lower our values.
You are you, me is me.
Old customs need to be obeyed, despite its flaws.
Malay is Muslim. Muslim is Malay.
Art is only acceptable at primary / grade school level.
BN is government, PR is opposition. When the parliament is disbanded for election, the concept still stay the same. While in fact, during that time, both parties are on equal ground.
Masjid is something we think of on Friday.
Only professional jobs could make a living.
Straight A in exam is above everything.
Redha is obey.
Respect is imposed on people. Not by gaining them.
We are in rage when teacher hits our kids. Even though they are at fault.
We like to shout "Allahuakbar". In almost every event.
Once we get on TV, we are already a celebrity.
Learning thing in English, threatens the position of Bahasa Melayu.
"Negaraku" while sitting down, keep talking etc.
Pig is haraam, alcohol is, closer to halal.
Marriage needs a lot of money.
And more. Care to add any on the comment section.

Random And Radical Boredom #27
Everyone was stupid a year before. And a year before that. And he or she will ever be stupid a year from now. And another more year after that.
That stupidity is a trait that everyone has. It is a sign that we live, it is a symbol to one’s existence. Not to other people. but to our conscious self.
To realize a year worth of stupidity, is a bargain between ourselves, that we have learnt. Or yet.

Was it that I had so much to think about
That I'm growing old?
Or growing up?

Random And Radical Boredom #25
How about round the day in 80 ways? Or perhaps round the day in 80 worlds?
One doesn't always see one thing in numerous point of views. It's always restricted, but much to our chagrin, it's not impossible to broaden our view, though it may takes some time. There are, for all one knows, 80 ways to enjoy your day. Perchance, there are 80 worlds' lens which you can see things through. You don't, and I don't know as well. Trapped in abyss of self-indulgence, we're keeping an impenetrable boundary to ourselves
Greet the morning sunrise. Take comfort in everything.
You might find in your eyes, a surprise, that you yourself couldn't hide. Exist, countless ways to appreciate every small thing, every tiny moment that we encountered everyday.
Or I may, to propose such solution to myself as a way to find inner peace in finding a promising future and a healthy relationship with people. Much to my senseless utterance, the best way is probably shut my ears with an affordable and somewhat good quality headphone, close my eyes, and listen to Norah Jones.
Once in a blue moon, secluding ourselves from twisted reality is a good rehab to the mind and soul. But in my case, I do it quite often.

I have quite a lot of things in hand right now. Rasa macam dua tangan tak cukup jer. Kena tambah lagi dua.
So, I can't update anything as of now. But I'll post something sooner. Tengah serabut sikit sekarang. Dengan final project kena hantar esok, baru selesai majis tahlil, bufday ! yay ! and more.
Do keep in touch, and earlier than ever, happy new year !

Life: Minggu Yang Penat Dan Kecewa
Minggu-minggu akhir November / awal December ini agak sibuk. Kerja bertimbun atas meja. Tiap kali open laptop, nampak lah sticky notes dua tiga melekat dekat wallpaper, penuh dengan to-do-list.
Setiap minggu pack dengan lab. Mujur tinggal lab Survey last minggu depan. And lab report dah siap satu per satu. Tiap-tiap malam kerja aku menaip report jer. Ada lagi 3, insyaAllah siap semua hantar bagai jumaat ni. Weekend aku join volunteer. Aku dah cakap rasanya tapi tak berkesempatan nak tulis aku buat volunteer pasal apa. Lain kali lah, tapi serius join volunteer ni best. Kenal orang, dapat benda free, jalan sana jalan sini and yang penting lah bagi aku, weekend aku penuh dengan benda berfaedah, and syariah compliant. Takde benda-benda harom syaitonirrajim. So weekend dah terisi ada benda nak buat.
Tiap-tiap minggu asyik lepak mall jer. Duit pun habis. Mata tak payah cakap lah. Kalau mata ni tak lekat dekat kepala. dah merata dia jalan sendiri. Jaga mata please. Tapi satu benda je aku kecewa. Serius kecewa. Kecewa tahap apa pun aku tak tahu lah nak cakap apa.
Disamping buat kerja, takkan lah nak mengadap Word tu je 24 jam. Mestilah ada juga melencong sikit rehatkan otak. Aku pun main lah game Pokemon. Ada game lain tapi aku takut addict terlebih sangat so aku main Pokemon. Dan-dan aku nak habis main dah game ni, pokemon aku semua dah power-power, sekali waktu nak save data, aku tersepak battery adapter, lappy's gone 'poooof'.
Arghhh, menjerit aku. Penat-penat main, sekali save data corrupt. Itu tandanya suruh aku buat kerja-kerja yang tak siap sebab final exam pun dah dekat. Kecewa serius kecewa. Sebab apa kecewa.
Dah, aku nak sambung buat Structural Steel Design. Subjek killer sem ni. Weee, dapat 94 untuk Survey. Ada rezeki dapat kerja GIS dekat Hamburg. Terubat hati yang kecewa. Tapi still ah kecewa lagi.
Good luck rerakan untuk final. Rerakan = rakan-rakan. Jangan tanya aku, aku rasa kalau aku amik SPM balik, BM aku sedikit fail. Bukan fail eh, sedikit je fail.
By the way, jangan main Pokemon kerana Pokemon menggalakkan anda menjadi seorang yang animal abuse. Sobs, sobs lagi.

Do you think that, in order for Malaysian to become a more civilized, well-mannered person, we actually need to disregard some of our own traditional customs?
Maybe, in a way, the tradition that has long lives inside us, moulding and shaping us Malaysian into an obnoxious person.
Modernity and custom can blend in together, but after witnessing an unpleasant scene among Malaysians, perhaps, we should think about it. It is not worth keeping something that will just makes us a worse human being than should we ever be.

Untitled #7
I'm actually reluctant to write about Gaza. Writing something that you don't have the full knowledge of and understanding is not really my style and I could have given a false alarm to others if I were to write about it. The outside world is at the edge of oblivion about Palestine.
Media press can't be trusted. I mean, what they published is not always covered the real situation about Israeli's occupation of Gaza because there is usually a twist when it comes to Palestinian territories. Thus, feeling ashamed, I could only be in solidarity with them and sent my prayer from afar. And Alhamdulillah, a ceasefire agreement has been signed from both sides with the mediation by the Egypt. Hopefully, our prayer doesn't stop here. And may Allah granted jannah to those who died, and strengthen their imaan and will to survive, to protect lives of their beloved people and to obtain peace and independence of their homeland.
Alhamdulillah
Al-Fatihah
Allahu Al-Musta'an
p/s: wide awake because I've Structural Steel Design test tomorrow. Though it's an open book test, you can never sit still or be satisfied when you need 3 books (EC3 Part 1-1, General Matter, and Design Worked Example) just to answer one steel design question. May the odd be ever in my favour :)

Random And Radical Boredom #22
Honestly, I don't know what to jot down here. October is not an interesting month, maybe. But I did enjoy every time it drizzles. Though most of the time, it's storming out here.
This kinda gives me a headache
Nothing much happened. But I learnt new things every week especially during Environmental class. Engineers usually don't associate much with biology, but I need to learn those stuffs again and it kinda reminds me the joyfulness of learning biology back in school. Except parts where it involves significant amount of blood that can cause dizziness, in me. Fyi, I have haemophobia. But I didn't learn what the medicine students learn during their undergraduate years, just a tiny piece of it about micro-organism and bacteria.
Like I said, nothing much happened. Maybe I need to find something to do, as a way to realign myself. Volunteer work? Joining marathon? Hiking? Wall climbing? Hockey tournament? I volunteered for World Hunger Relief event two weeks ago, but that's just one time event. I received offers from my friends, but rolling in my blanket during a rainy season seems more entertaining and relaxing while enjoying the sound of water falling from the roof and a cup of hot green tea.
I exhaled air of laziness.

Random And Radical Boredom #21
Salam.
Just nak bagitahu, saya sudah berpindah ke Tumblr. Blog ni takkan terabai, cuma kadang-kadang nak post something dekat blog ni kena banyak fikir.
So, buat masa ni akan alternately guna blogger and tumblr.
Baru buat actually. So jangan lah expect tumblr aku tu best sangat. Just untuk suka-suka, isi masa lapang.
Let the pictures tell the stories.
Aku tak suka serabut-serabut, so tumblr pun lebih kurang macam blog.
Putih, simple and endless scroll.

Random And Radical Boredom #20
After a week of not opening blogger, I have this sudden
feeling crept into my soul. A feeling to write.
We have made some progress with the
design project. We now have all the basic design of framework of the house. It
took us so long, almost a week to interpret the architectural plan of the
house into basic framework plan, sketched with only beams and columns.
Lucky for us when we no longer need
to bother ourselves with the specification of the beam and column, as we only
need to assume all of them are of the same size. That reduces the work by half
I guess.
We are in a period of "design testing". All columns
are in a fixed position. There are certain parts we can place the column, while
we can put as many beams as we want, not considering any constraints such as
types, how much it can take loading and also financial provisions. And what's
exhausting, after getting one of the sample
designs done, we are haunted by a series of complicated calculations. It
drove me crazy the other day, frustrated enough to soon explode.
We still have some
modifications to make, and transferring the design into detailed plan in paper,
and also in CAD (computer-aided design). Though we have two weeks left, playing
time was never there to begin with. So, each one of us is quite stressed out.
Getting ahead, we
were told that Structural Analysis II requires more that we have done the
previous week. I don't know if the intention is for us to be prepared and to do
well on this project, but the more I think about it, it's quite discouraging.
Ignoring it for now is the best thing I could think of.
So, we decided to
take a day off on Wednesday. Thinking of something to do on that day rather
than spending time sleeping and surfing the net, we went to Sungai Tekala, a
recreational park located in Semenyih. Refreshing water, green scenery, quiet
and peaceful. A good place for us who need a break. Besides, there were not many
people on weekdays, so I think going there that day was a correct choice.
It's been a while
since I drowned myself in a river and I was a lil bit excited. Maybe I
played in water too hard that day, it left me with sicknesses. Leg
cramps, flu, cough and cold. All at once. I'm getting better but I still suffer
from a severe cough. Hopefully I'll be in perfect health by Monday. Thinking of
piles of works I have in store, getting sick at this time is not a
choice.
Leaving the
work-related story behind, it's Syabaan already. That's means we have about 27
days till Ramadhan. I didn't realize it until now when a friend of mine asked me
if I want to fast with him this upcoming Monday. Yeah, I know Ramadhan is just
around the corner, but I totally lost count of the date. I really need to
reflect upon myself starting this Syabaan. Maybe for that purpose, I need to
discuss it in another post.
On a different note, Anan is coming
back from Spain tomorrow. Me, Bushra and Nizam decided to pick him up tomorrow
morning and probably having breakfast together. Since all of us are busy this
week, we all agree to postpone our day out next week.
One more thing, lately I've been
thinking of changing to tumblr. For convenience, perhaps. Tumblr is like a
mini blog, and if you're just too lazy to update anything, reblog is a very
powerful tool. Or maybe another option is to use them both. Alternately switching between tumblr and blogger depending on my mood. No decision has been made yet, but
I'm seriously considering it. I'll let you know if I already made one.
Adieu.

Ah, wochenende.
Sebenarnya, rasa malas gila lah nak update blog ni.
Idea tu ada, tapi malas and busy. Ingatkan nak biar je blog ni terabai buat sementara waktu. Facebook dah memang lama terabai. Tambah-tambah, ada Euro sekarang. Aish, rasanya Netherlands memang takde harapan nak advance top 8. Memang next week, semua match decide siapa advance quarter final for every group. And then, free time allocate untuk rehat, malam layan Euro. So, tak berapa nak cukup tidur.
Sekarang actually tengah busy dengan design project.
Sebenarnya, rasa malas gila lah nak update blog ni.

Structural Design for Two-Storey House
Ada layout design tu tapi malas nak upload. Kalau bagi rumah pondok takpe jugak. Ini rumah modern dua tingkat, memang kitorang mengadap plan rumah tu dari pagi sampai petang. Dah lah kena lukis plan baru ikut scale, plus calculation.
Segala jenis batang besi tiang rumah tu kitorang kena decide and analyze, lepas tu kena consider concrete, berat barang and berat orang segala bagai, agak tak berapa nak cukup nafas lah. Sebab tu rasa macam malas je nak buat benda lain.
There is a saying, "A dream of an architect is a nightmare for engineer"
Memang pun. Ingat kan saje-saje je ada peribahasa tu, sekali bila dah kena macam ni, agak tak sanggup lah kalau kena design pelik-pelik.
Tu je nak bagitahu. So tak tahu lagi lah bila nak update. Selamat maju jaya untuk hari-hari yang mendatang. Nah gambar katak yang agak comel.

Random And Radical Boredom #18
Assalam. Hey, how was your day?
It's actually nice having someone asking you how do you do everyday. It makes you feel you're important in someone else's life. It's just a thought, but at times, I really want to feel it too.
Nothing much happened for the past few days. So ordinary. Thus, I'm always in deep thought mood. I think I'm scared. Or worried too much. Or being extra careful. I've been imagining things, fearful things that might happen tomorrow. Anything can happen right?
Especially death. Recently, there were too many cases or media reports on death. The new one was the zombie man. I can't bear the thought of having one of my family member passes away or getting injured. Everyone has been going their own way, and the only times we're able to see each other and getting together is during holiday. But then, getting the idea if one of them is missing or gone forever, I don't know what will happen to me. Undeniably sad?
I never once saw my father cry during a funeral. Maybe as a man of the family, he needs to stay strong. Everyone will die someday and if everyone feels weak over the death of their loved one, no one will ever move on. Everyone will need someone to comfort them and makes them realize their loved one isn't there any more. I bet it isn't going to be easy, but life still goes on. So I wonder if I can be as strong as my father, mentally.
During the Eid of 2011, we went to visit my grandfather's grave. Well, we will certainly visit the grave every Eid, but in 2011, it was a little bit different. Since my brother wasn't there, so I was asked by my father to conduct the yasin recital and du'a. Confused, because during every Eid, it is either going to be my father or my uncle (Pak Teh) to do the recital. I asked him why. He simply answered that I need to know how to do this and be prepared because maybe tomorrow, I need to recite it for him. I knew well of his intention. As a son who is going to take after the family, at least I need to learn this stuff. But then again, anyone will sadden if they think they're not going to have breakfast together tomorrow morning with their father. Forever.
I was shaken by the thought of losing anyone. Be it a family member or a closed friend. It scared me to the core.
As a muslim, certainly death is a reminder. Maybe we're not created for the world, maybe we're created for something greater and the only way to go there is by ripping off your soul from your physical body. Die. Of course, if we have attained imaan and live happily in Jannah.
I already bear in mind, deep inside, it's going to be sad. The question is, to what extend? I've never experienced it before, that's why it's so frustrating to just thinking about it, mixed with fear. It's not like I'm trying to scare everyone by posting something like this. But in actual fact, no one can escape death. So like it or not, prepare or not, it's going to happen. All in all, I wish to be someone who scare not of death, and at the same time, I wish to be prepared.
And lastly is du'a. Loving someone is a human's nature. But loving them by praying for their safety, hoping to reunite with them in Jannah is the greatest love of all. May our days be tender, and for us to be a faithful son or daughter, a loving friend, or perhaps a kind stranger. After all, our blood is still the same colour.
I ask of Him, if it's going to happen to me someday, grant me strength to overcome this heartbreaking test from You, ya Allah.
This post also reminds me to always make du'a for our brothers and sisters in middle east who are struggling everyday with painful calamities. May they become strong and hopefully someday, win is on their side.
Sorry if this is too intimidating.
